About Me

Hi! I’m Naomi. Welcome to my blog! I am a former EPIK teacher. I love to travel, sing in different languages, immerse myself in other cultures, and share my experiences using photography, video, and writing.

My love for traveling started in 2016 when I studied in the Netherlands as an exchange student. There I enjoyed the best six and a half months of my life because of the friendships I made. The most profound of these was the personal relationship I developed with God and discovering myself.

Since then I’ve traveled to 17 countries: Netherlands, Spain, Morocco, Portugal, UK, Italy, Greece, France, Hungary, Israel, Argentina, Turkey, South Korea, Japan, Australia and New Zealand.

So why did I start this blog? I’ve always dreamed of working abroad and having a blog to share the lessons I’ve learned. During my senior year at the City College of New York, I started the sharing process by creating a radio show called GoBeBrave Travel Radio Show on Facebook Live. I used this platform to interview young adult such as students, entrepreneurs, researchers, documentarians, performing artists, frequent travelers, and directors of photography. Each guest had a unique story and shared valuable lessons. Their stories were a reminder of why it’s important to share them.

Some time before graduating, I told myself that  on my next long term travel experience I wouldn’t go as a student. Instead I wanted to give something back – my time, knowledge, and experience. I wanted this endeavor to be about service. When the idea sprung up in my head about the EPIK program (English Program in Korea), I jumped at the opportunity and applied to become an English teacher in Korea. After one year of working in IT, I moved to South Korea and lived there for two years!

Each day in Korea was filled with new challenges, surprises and fun. Blogging would allow me to capture and share these precious moments. Documenting my experience in Korea is not just for myself but my family and friends, who I miss dearly. I also hope that this blog can inform, inspire, uplift readers.

This blog features all my favorite things: devotionals (because God is the center of my life and the bible is just so interesting), the EPIK program, life in Korea, traveling within and outside South Korea, food (I like to have fun in my kitchen!) and fashion. Happy reading!
